Windowsill of Joy – 22 April

Celebration of our animal family members, keeping us company and joining us on dog walks.

The mystery plant has been identified ( thanks Rosalie) as a Cornus, aptly a dogwood. Looks like cornus capitata , a native of the Himalayas, will watch it over winter and see if it keeps its leaves or not, could be a Japanese dogwood its Seems a strangely suitable plant for being in lockdown, an eat and preserve the fruit, can make wine , roast as coffee substitute, high in vitamin c and the answer for bowel problems…..and you can dye your clothes red if fed up with them. I have never even noticed this plant before.

  1. Lets be grateful for our pets who show us unconditional love at times of need.
I love the tiny puppy in his bed…

  2. Pets are fantastic. Both cats at my house enjoy coming for walk later in evening. Also saw a man on Monday out for a walk with a cockatoo on his shoulder.

  3. There is an article on stuff news saying the dogs are becoming reluctant to walk, some might be due to over walking but I think they are also sensing that people are under stress and needing to hunker down at home,
Stig has always had two good walks a day but now only wants one, he is getting old but I do think hes also tired from the emotional toll of these unusual times
