Windowsill of Joy – 7 April

window sill for everyone whos birthday isnt quite what they were hoping for in this time, es[ecially anyone on their own or missing their special loved ones.

Although ballons no longer enviromentally good the pumps still remind me of parties, hope we get some new eco balloons one day. The present is wrapped in reusable fabric gift wrap, a present for anyone celebrating their Bearthday.

To make reusable fabric wrap

Two pieces of material, any size but both the same size, square or rectangle if possible.

Fold one edge on each piece about a cm to the wrong side, press.

Put the to pieces wrong side together,

Stitch 1 cm from the edge most of the way round leaving a gap large enough for your hand to fit through unstitched. You can hand sew, machine sew or overlock

Turn inside out, I use a round ended metal ruler to push the edge out and the blunt end of a pencil to push the corners out.

Stitch all the way round on the right side, any stitch you fancy, about 0.5 cm from the edge, or just stitch opening closed.

If liked sew on some ribbon, i have found placing the ribbon across a corner about 7 cm in from the corner ends up being the correct place for tying a bow when present wrapped up.

Gift and send onwards, be interesting to see how far it goes.

Happy Bearthday
